Professor Ejaz Huq

Professor Ejaz Huq obtained his PhD in Electrical Engineering from Cambridge University in 1989. He is Chief Scientific Officer at OSC, having previously been a Council Fellow and Senior Principal Scientist at the Science and Technology Facilities Council’s Rutherford Appleton Laboratory. 

Ejaz has worked in a scientific leadership role on various national and international programmes including the Joint European Submicron Silicon Initiative [JESSI]. He is the recipient of 2 international awards for his work on silicon based field emission technology, including the development of world’s smallest ion trap mass spectrometer which was deployed on the European Space Agency’s Rosetta Mission. He has an extensive background in microfabrication for MEMS and other applications.

Professor Huq has published widely in scientific journals and has several patents to his credit. He is on the Editorial Board of three international journals including IEEE Transactions on Nanobiosciences, The Microelectronics Journal and IET Micro Nano Letters. He is a visiting professor at Queen Mary University of London.
